About Me
My name is Liz and I have worked with patients with diabetes in an inpatient, outpatient and/or business setting for at least 10 years. Through talking to patients, I have realized that YES, we need 1:1 visits and group education sessions. But, there also needs to be a one-stop shop, trusted resource. I’ll try to provide something like that here.
I’m qualified! I’m a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Registered Dietitian/Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN, LDN), and training Diabetes Prevention Program Coach. Oh, and I have a M.S. in Clinical Nutrition. What’s that you say? In order to maintain a CDCES credential, I had to document several hours of experience in order to sit for an exam and I now maintain my credential with continuing education yearly. As a RDN, LDN, I went through 4 years of college for nutrition related information + an internship, in order to sit for an exam and maintain my credential with continuing education yearly.
Phew, was it worth it? As my colleagues and I say, we have one of the most rewarding professions and we are lucky to be able to support each other/patients with diabetes.
